The Covid pandemic and the experience of lockdown had a profound impact on the lives of people worldwide. In the face of this health, social, and ecological crisis, many voices rose to denounce a productivity-driven system completely disconnected from nature and its resources. Were the hopes sparked by a reevaluation of our system - or even a complete shift from our obsolete consumption model - reduced to nothing? Perhaps not… We were approached by Meg Meg, a young woman wishing to return to the essentials. By choosing to live in a “Tiny House,” she sought to rebuild a more natural relationship with the world around her in a “peaceful revolt against the decadence of our society.” Living in a tiny, mobile, and self-sufficient house requires accepting many compromises. In this regard, some of Meg Meg’s desires were luxuries: a real bathtub to bathe in rainwater! A balancing act: the kitchen and bathroom are at the front, while a dry toilet and storage space separate the bedroom from the rest of the living area. Above the bedroom, tatami mats also serve for the tea ceremony. Nestled in the woods, yet charming and welcoming. Enough to inspire others, perhaps?
